ABOUT US - CHRISTINAS FABRICS & ALTERATIONS!

Christina's Fabrics was established in 2017. The store is located in the town of Uxbridge, ON, Canada.  We also have an online fabric store that was created at the onset of Covid, which was a tremendous help to our survival. Formerly a Coordinator in the health care industry for many years until investors took over and many of us lost our jobs.  This is when I felt it was time for a change!
Knowing that I couldn't retire I took some time off to clear my mind and make a decision as to what it was that I really wanted to do with the rest of my life.  I felt that at this point I should do what I was passionate about and that was "People and Fabrics". 
After giving this a lot of thought and with this combination in mind the name "Christina's Fabrics" was born.  It took several months of planning before I actually saw this come to pass.  It was a surreal moment in my life when the store was completed and the doors opened for business. It has not been an easy road, but I do love what I do.  I have always enjoyed sewing, but never really had a lot of time for it. Getting affordable fabric in Uxbridge was never an easy task for myself or for others.   
Our online Fabric Shop is open 24/7 and is an extension of our current Brick & Mortar Retail Store.   We had some wonderful sewing classes for both children and adults, but were stopped at the onset of the pandemic Some of our class pictures can be seen on our Facebook page.  We are looking forward to getting back to some kind of normal so that we can begin our classes again.  
All of our fabrics are priced per half meter 19.5", not half yard 18".  

Among some of the fabrics we currently stock are cotton, batiks, pre-cuts,  broadcloth, flannel, fleece, cotton knits, jersey lace, polyester knits, chiffon, polyester etc. (We also stock lots of notions such as, machine needles, hand sewing needles, Mettler thread, zippers, batting, buttons, fusible interfacing, cutting boards, rotary cutters etc.., at the moment only in our brick and mortar store).  In the future we will be adding some of these notions to our online store. 

 At Christina's Fabrics, we believe that by offering the best of the best in even the simplest fabrics and great prices, we can make a difference in the sewing lives of our customers. We are striving to make this an excellent customer experience.  If you are looking for something and unable to find it on our online store send us an email and we will do our best to bring it in, or put you in the direction of where you might be able to find it. :)

We believe that you do not have to pay top dollar to get top quality fabrics.  Our fabrics are of great quality with name brands such as Northcott, Riley Blake, Studio E, Exclusively Quilters, Quilting Treasures, Marcus Fabrics, Springs Creative, Camelot Fabrics, David Textiles, Lewis & Irene, Fabric Creations and more. 

Don't wait for a sale.  Our prices are already low so whatever you buy you are getting the best price.  Our profit margins are minimal.  We have desperately tried not to raise prices, especially now that everything in this world costs so much more.  We believe that sewing is an art and that everyone should have access to affordable fabric; to either learn this art or continue with this art. We do from time to time have sales to clean out stock to bring in new, but the sales are not something we have on a regular basis.  So when we do have a sale it truly is a sale.  

Our passion for Fabrics and People is what drove us from the beginning and it still drives us now. In fact, it’s what makes us tick. I sincerely love what I do and hope that I can continue to do this for many years to come.
